TEHRAN – The Majlis Presiding Board on Sunday received impeachment motions against Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Shamseddin Hosseini and Energy Minister Majid Namjou.

The motion against the economy minister has been signed by 28 lawmakers and the one against the energy minister by 51 lawmakers. 

The ministers should attend the parliament within ten day to answer questions by impeachers. 

Hosseini is facing impeachment over the 2.6 billion dollar financial scandal. MPs have cited four reasons for impeaching the economy minister among them lack of enough oversight over the performance of banks. 

Energy Minister Majid Namjou is also facing impeachment for weak management, poor planning, failure to fulfill commitments, and long delays in the dam construction projects. 

Namjou survived an impeachment vote on March 6, 2011.
